My SuperDrive and my combo drive both hang in chapter 26. I had a friend check and his Windows XP machine stutters in about chapter 28.

I tried two brand new spotless rental dvds from Blockbuster, and I tried them on a PowerMac and a PowerBook. ---John

Anybody else having trouble playing the new Star Wars DVDs on OSX DVD Player 4.0? I have tried two Episode 4 (A New Hope) discs and in both DVD Player hangs in chapter 26. I have to wonder if Georgie Boy has stuffed some crap in these that "normal" DVD players are not sensitive to.

I know of no HDTV tuner that is currently available for the Mac. I would guess that there will be a couple on the market within 6 months. If anybody hears of a HDTV tuner for the Mac, please let us know. Until then, I'll just keep watching Buffy TVS on my Formac Studio TVR and my 20"...

Formac Studio TVR only rarely will come up at all. Calls and emails to Formac go unanswered. Not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling about Formac here. ---JMO

Apple is going to send me another ATI 9600. Until then they suggested that I leave the G5 running... So I started folding proteins at home. Thanks for all the support, y'all! ---jmo

My customized dual G5 came on Friday 9/19---ordered on July 2 with 1GB o' RAM. I thought I was overbuying (and I was!), and that I really should have just bought the best iMac and saved myself a small fortune. Now I'm of the opinion that I like having a PC that does everything faster than you...

Email from Apple just arrived indicating that my dual G5 shipped today (9/18) with 1GB o' RAM. It was ordered on July 2. The long hot summer (wait) may be near the end.

It's the damned Hokies that are keeping me from my dual 2GHz G5??? May Duke squash them mightly on the BBall court this year!

Apple says they're going to ship mine on or before 08/29/03. I ordered a Dual 2GHz with 1GB o' RAM on 07/02/03. And still not one word about Apple actually shiping dualies.
