Yes, this is the first thing I did. I put a simple 'echo("working!!!");' statement, but I left out all of the verbage for the code sample. The point is that it will run inside the 'metadata.php' as long as I do *not* try to pass a variable. Then the server outputs a message saying that "mode"...
I am designing a website hosted on GoDaddy.com servers. They are using the "safe_mode" version of PHP 4.3.1 running on Linux/Apache.
The problem is that according to the documentation at www.php.net, I should be able to pass a variable using the "include()". Here is an example of what I am...
I have been working with the XCode Developer Tools and they are working out quite well. Because PHP is a C-like language, it is automatically color-coded even though I am not even running PHP Server on my local machine.
I already have the shell of my website completed, now I just need to...
I just started looking into PHP and have been reading the documentation available at www.php.net throughout the week. This weekend, I need to start on a pretty simple website that will use forms and pulling info from other websites into dynamic web pages. Thankfully, I do not need to start...
I would really appreciate it if there were improved security features for Safari. There are several websites that my wife needs to use on a regular basis, and I am just about to set up a PC so she can access them. Not even IE for Mac will work.
I am eager to see if the new build of Safari...
Under the Classic panel in System Preferences, you can designate and change the drive partition in which Classic boots from. Just change OS9 to another drive and then when it works, delete it from the original partition/drive.
Apple does use serial numbers for their high-end software. Mac OSX Server, WebObjects (and I would FinalCut although I have not worked with that) all have VERY LONG and complicated serial numbers... even worse than Microsoft!
If Apple wanted to be really nasty, they could do exactly what...
At the beginning of my post, I mentioned that Cocoa was originally designed to be on both Mac and PC (Windows NT was supported through Yellow Box). If Apple were to write OSX for Intel, then they obviously would finish the port of Cocoa to Intel. Then all applications that are written in Cocoa...
Wasn't COCOA, when it was first announced by Apple, suppose to allow you to write an application that would work on both the Mac OSX and Windows [yellow box]?
There is a company called Lindows, that is writing a UNIX version for the PC that would emulate Microsoft OS, and would allow you to...
I went straight into Objective-C after playing around with REALbasic for about a week.
I read the Apple Documentation for Objective-C: The Language, and I feel that it was one of the better books to explain Object-Oriented programming that I have read.
After about two months, I ran up to...
I have problems getting the korean fonts to work at all!
I have the language pack loaded, and when I browse Korean websites, they show up fine, but I am not able to enter anything in Korean.
My wife is learning korean, and I want to set up the computer so she can type in Korean.
I am trying to make it simple for my clients to FTP their job files to me. I have an anon FTP setup on my 10.1 box.
What I would like to do is either have an HTML picture (like an icon), or a page that the client can drag and drop their file on to upload to my FTP server. The web server for...
I went to Fry's, CompUSA, and Staples, and none of the had the update CD. Fry's said that they got something, but it was wrong and they needed to return it. They were expecting the shipment sometime that day (Saturday). Fry's did have 10.1 full retail version on the shelves. There were at...
