    it just generally seems a lot faster to me, because before switching from, say, GoLive CS2 to Photoshop CS2 could sometimes take 10 seconds , whereas having them on seperate desktops and simply switching desktops is instantaneous. Feels like a brand new machine to me!

    Power down the mac completely. Then Press the power button and hold down APPLE-S When the text stops scrolling type fsck -f and then press enter Wait for the process to finish (it will say something about root#) and then type reboot and hit enter. Then report back and tell if it helped or not...

    Deja Vu is a good bet... I use it to backup my home folder nightly, applications weekly and the entire drive monthly. It's not free, but it is a great graphical front-end and scheduler to psync. It's also a lot easier to use than psync and cron scripts. Here's a couple of screenie's :-)

    Intel Inside, Apple Outside

    I'd choose AMD. Why? Because they are faster per Mhz and thus use less energy, meaning they run cooler. Simple as that.
