    Kernel Panic AGAIN on 7b85

Because EVERY build released to ADC has been leaked to the public (i.e. BitTorrent). Apple want people to BUY Panther, not DL it from other sources. Apparently the leak is from within Apple which is why 7B85 (GM) was leaked. Notice there have been no leaks of other builds since then? There...

Why I don't think Panther 7B85 is GM

I do not consider this a bug in Safari. I mean, think about it. If a page is loading and you pull down a menu, Safari assumes you either want to a) go to another page or b) quit, etc. Why keep loading a page in this case? This, to me, is a feature. If I load a page and change my mind, I...

Why I don't think Panther 7B85 is GM

7B85 is final. I have it installed on my 17" iMac and Pismo Powerbook and Safari works great. You must have a bad install.

    I have final Panther (10.3-7b85)

No apology necessary - I was only joking. The builds weren't posted to ADC b/c they were internal builds. Most likely, they squashed all the bugs from 7B80 (posted to ADC) and tested the release candidates in house. The leak of 7B85 to the normal "channels" probably came from within Apple.

    I have final Panther (10.3-7b85)

Simply because something cannot be "proven" until a date in the future does not make it unfactual. 7B85 is GM and is what will be in the retail box. Piracy over at MacNN told people when 10.0, 10.1, and 10.2 came out what the GM build was and no one believed him. Every time he was correct -...

    I have final Panther (10.3-7b85)

If he's got 7B85 then he has the GM build and hence the "Retail" build. 7B85 is GM whether people want to beleive it or not. The 7C** series of builds are for 10.3.1. Panther retail = Build 7B85.

    Kernel Panic AGAIN on 7b85

7B85 is GM whether you believe it or not. You'll find out when you open the retail box I am sure you are buying. The 7C** builds are a new branch of the development tree and are for 10.3.1. Why would they jump from 7B85 to 7C** for 10.3?

Rumors circulating that 5G64 is NOT the GM?

OK. Once and for all 5G64 is the GM. It's the same thing you get when you go out and buy the retail OS 10.1. I have both and know for a fact that the build on the retail is 5G64.

    Office X?

I heard from some guy who stopped by my Carracho server that he has b1121. He is supposed to come by and upload it soon...

    QueDrive Not burning...

How do you get it burn under iTunes? I am able to create a playlist and click Burn. It then starts to "Prepare tracks for burning." After 3-4 tracks I get an error "Burning Failed Due to Unknown Error." Do you have to prepare the disc as an iTunes Audio Disc under the finder first?

    QueDrive Not burning...

I have the same problem with my Que! Fire 16x10x40x. It is recognized by the system and iTunes, but iTunes stops burning with an error and the Finder never properly "prepares" a CD, either for data or iTunes. The GOOD NEWS is the new Toast 5.1P2 WORKS GREAT! Converting and burning audio...

Remember Kids 5g64 Nor 5g68 Are Final Releases!

"5G64 is the release version: We have also received word that the release version of Mac OS X 10.1 is the same as the 5G64 build that was previously seeded to developers."
  13. M

Well... OSX.1 seems to know I have a CD-RW... and yet... nothing.

What model of Sony Spressa USA CD-RW do you have? I had the CRX100E (X2) and although the System Profiler "saw" the drive, it didn't list the Firmware or other info. It just said it was connected. I gave up and bought a Que! Firewire drive that works great under OS 10.1.

Remember Kids 5g64 Nor 5g68 Are Final Releases!

    A) How do you know 5G68 was the last build released to developers? B) Even the final version will have a build number. Click on About this Macintosh and then click where it says "Mac OS 10.1" It will then tell you the build number. Mine is 5G64.

The Mac OS 10.1 .img size

If it's a Toast image it's about 626.6 MB. The Disk Copy .dmg image Apple posted on the Developer site was about 500 MB.
