    is there a way i can mute or better yet just lower the volume of the startup chime. i've tried the Psst! program but it doesn't work for me.i have os 10.4.2 on a mac mini. there is a keyboard mute button though at shut down but you have to mute your os all the time.just not to hear the chime...

    blue screen after sleep mode

    i have a $699 mac mini model and an AOC 17" monitor.when i put it in sleep mode and wake it up by pressing the keyboard or mouse, the only thing shows up is the blue screen.and doesn't go to the desktop.what i'd do is press the power button to shut it down.please help.many thanks in advance.
