I'm interested to hear what it takes for other people's TiBook to set the fan running (on the first level).
I have a TiBook 550MhZ with 512MB of RAM, Running 10.1.5. Hardly any special software is installed - just one or two extra UNIX-daemons running in the background. Looking at "top" in...
No it's not the screen resolution...
I've had two G4 powerbooks. The first had a flickering screen. The second has paint peeling off, a fan which is constantly on and - last but not least - a growing dark spot over the sleep light at the bottom of the screen.
Judging from what other...
Positively no more shocks on my side since I got back from Malaysia...
While still there, I went into an Apple shop and enquired about the electric shocks I was getting. The owner of the shop just smiled and said "9 out of 10 customers come back with the same question - yes, it is normal and...
Yes, thanks!
I suppose it'll stop when I get back to Switzerland...
I've done a search on the net and it seems a few other people in hot and humid places (particularly Singapore and Hong Kong) have had the same problem.
"Merci fuer'd Hilf" - best,
Sebastian
I have an odd problem and I wonder whether anyone can help.
I've changed two things to my Powerbook G4/550 (with Combo drive): the country I'm in right now (Malaysia rather than Switzerland) and the hard-disk (a 60GB IBM Travelstar rather than the original 20GB one).
The problem: When the...
well, it says "in one of the following ways"...
Since you are surely in possession of a regular, registered version of OS X Server, you could ask Apple for some help? ;-)
Sebastian
I'm not running OS X 10.1 server so I don't know what the procedure with the pre-installed version of mysql is - have you checked the mysql mailing list archives?
Here's what's in the mysql manual - this is relevant for linux but maybe it solves the problem for you.
Hope this helps...
I've seen posts about a crashing OS X on this forum before - but no real solutions. Before sending my complaint to Apple, here's my version of how to crash OS X - comments welcome!
I used to have no problems until I upgraded to 10.1. Since then, my TiBook 400 (384MB RAM, 20GB IBM HD) crashed...
Dear OS X/UNIX gurus....
I've asked this question before in other forums (and for OS X 10.0) but have never found a solution - maybe some of you can help?
Using a Swiss German keyboard, it used to be impossible to type a caret (or several other characters like ~ etc.) in the terminal - you...
Yes - I know the feeling. My first extra RAM was 16MB for about 400US$ ;-)
Then I kept it when I replaced it and hoped that RAM prices would go up again (in order to sell it to another poor soul...). I think it's still lying around somewhere. ;-)
