    iTunes 3 & Mounted Volumes

How do you get iTunes 3 to play mp3s on remote hard drives (from an Apple File Server and a W2K server) ? I did a search and couldnt find anything similar. I have an Mp3 server on the network and I use to be able to drag files (and folders) to a new playlist on a client mac then play...

NO .Mac services for free (official)

I'm also not happy about the intended fees, nor am I willing to pay any amount for a need that is even less that "basic". I use iDisk only for my avatars, thats the only thing that I registered. A "mac.com" email addy is nice but I hardly ever use it. If theres anyone here who knows...

    are there any usb drives/hardware?

slot loaders (refering to CD drives) I think are the only ones that started with FW, that and up to the current model. USB is slower, so if your Mac doesnt have FW, then this is what you will have to use. A networked server (even at home) is one of the best means to back up data.

How do I get a powerbook to run closed

Dont know about the G4 but Apple says (See Knowledgebase) not to do this on PB G3's. Shouldnt an iPod be more appropriate? Why not just keep it open and secure your PB with a seatbelt?

    OSX and XP..?

From my understanding: XP- is Windows trying hard to be OSX :D OSX - is a Macintosh trying to become Unix :D everyone seems to be copying someone else. I'd say build your XP pc..(yes build or assemble) and use it for all the PC crap. Keep the G4, M$ Free!!!...yes even IE or MS...

Old iMac "vibrates" on lowd ( ? ) music.

There's an old CD vibrating (just the CD drive) problem that is fixed by applying an update...but that was an old issue & you probably knew about it.
