Through extreme desperation of not wanting to ruin my life i ran the file through 'ISObuster', the good thing is it can read it... the bad news is that i dont know how to extract/burn the files to a disc... Im still trying to work it out.

A mate of mine created a nice little piece of software for my mac, he is a programmer. He e-mailed it to me in the form of a Cd image... the file is a .CDR. Im not to sure what to do with it and i cant contact him, whats the best way to save it to a disc? The software needs to be loaded...

Ive talked to apple, because the HD shows in the disc utility programme, it probably isnt hardware... They think a complete wipe will fix it, to back up my files i need to take my big mac to the nearest branch.... which is far far away. Ive complained and said the correct key words and...

If you go to preferences, then click on the lightbulb. you can set the monitor off time to one minute. It may also have lid settings. good luck
