Put it in your Startup Items, and tick the 'Hide' box. This will launch it when you log in, and then hide it leaving the dock icon with the correct date. I don't know of any way to keep it up to date without actually launching it.

Have a look here to see if there is a script to do what you want. If not, email Doug with your dilemma, and he will probably help you. I emailed him once, and within 48hours he'd written a brand new script that did what I wanted. What a guy!

Also, make sure you're not sharing yours too or Francois will have access to them (or password protect it)

Before you go 'just deleting things' have you tried basic maintenance if your Mac is slow? Also, try downloading Onyx and run all the options in the 'Automation' tab.

Have you considered an archive & install?

After having the problem of Safari not saving history when qutting it, over a week ago, trashing the .plist seems to have worked. I now have the last 9 days history. When I next run Onyx I'll see if it affects anything.

I had them on my first iMac which shipped with 10.1. I seem to remember 'B52's - Loveshack' was one of them.

Yeah, I had this problem. I also found that Safari lost its history whenever I quit it. Trashing the safari .plist seems to have helped. This was only 2 or three days ago, so don't know if it will keep history any longer yet but it doesn't lose it anymore when I quit the app.

The new iMac is 2 inches thick. The current Powerbooks are 1 inch thick. To fit the G5 in the current Powerbook form would require halving the size of the iMac. Still a fair way to go IMO...
