    ssh closes unexpectedly, but why?

nixgeek, that's one of the first things I checked. No dice. Thanks though! macbri, I tried that. I then ssh'd into my server but forgot to add the port specifier, and to my amazement it worked without a hitch (on the default port). I have changed nothing on either machine, not even rebooted...

    ssh closes unexpectedly, but why?

I have public key authentication enabled, and it has worked on thousands of previous tries. I think I may have upgraded something on my slackware machine (target host) that buggered it, though the configuration files are untouched. Here's the debug output when trying to connect localhost:~...

iTunes won't pop to the top of the window stack when activated?

After the latest iTunes (8.0.2) and Mac OS X (10.5.6) updates, the main iTunes window will no longer pop to the top of the window stack when iTunes is selected with Command-Tab, though the menubar does change and I can interact with the app via the usual keyboard shortcuts. Is anyone else...

    French layout—Microsoft Natural 4000?

Hi Gia :) Yeah it does list it as Macintosh compatible, and it comes with (seemingly well-designed, recently-updated) OS X software. I've had this exact issue with all Microsoft keyboards—it's simply that the visual and representative layouts are inconsistent. Seriously, mapping / to the...

    French layout—Microsoft Natural 4000?

I've just bought a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 keyboard, in French, in Canada (i.e., QWERTY, not AZERTY). 105 keys. However, none of the key layouts in Leopard's International prefpane represent the keys labelled on the keyboard correctly! (Yes, even the "Canadian French—Microsoft"). For...

    OS X server - phpMyAdmin?

wicky, Surely, some people love it! I was only voicing my personal opinion. If you enjoy it, and it does the job for you, then by all means, use it! I'm sure I do things, and use tools, that others find useless (like doing most of my SQL in the Terminal :)) I just can't stand mousing or tabbing...

Persistent missing system folder at boot (iMac TFT, 10.4)

I tried both of those. Since I now have a new iMac, I'm wondering if it's even worth fixing...

Persistent missing system folder at boot (iMac TFT, 10.4)

Took a while for me to get back! How would I go about doing that (without an Apple Hardware Test CD, since I can't boot from the CD drive) ?

Persistent missing system folder at boot (iMac TFT, 10.4)

I've got an iMac TFT 70 MHz running 10.4.11 (8S165). I leave the Tiger install DVD in the machine at all times, just in case. I left it alone, running, and came back to find the (stock Apple) screen saver active (normal). When I moved the cursor to invoke the password dialogue, no dialogue...

Are apps locked like iTunes purchased music?

fryke, you know me better than that! :) Additionally, I was asking how iPhone apps were licensed (factored out to copy protection, as I assume a copy-protected app is licensed to prevent multiple seats), not how one could circumvent copy protection. That was the intention, at least. I couldn't...

Are apps locked like iTunes purchased music?

Oddly, I didn't find anything good in any searches. If I buy an iPhone/iPod Touch application, will/can/might it be locked like iTunes Protected downloads, or is that taken care of with the "you can only sync the iPod with one computer" barrier? Thanks!
