"The World Wide Web was developed using Apple technology. Think Different."

How's that sound for an Apple ad? Entirely true also; I think theres an article on the w3.org site where Berners-Lee where he talks about how the only way he would have been able to develop http/html/WorldWideWeb.app/et al was using the NeXT developer tools, since he was a physicist, not a...

well the fucking thing came today and it's all busted up! The F5 key was broken off & the USB port shield was half pulled out of the kb case :( I sent it back (they're paying shipping) and they're sending out a new one now.

    Site Running Faster

Yeah, it's rendering much faster, thanks :) It still seems to be sluggish making connections; that may just be me though. I'm on a cable connection.

uhhhhhh this is a joke right?

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1269459415 saweet! I know from experience that those keycaps wore off in like a month, so this one must have hardly ever been used. (the PET2001 was one of the first 3 'home computers' introduced in 1977 that you could actually go to a...

    A better way?...

huh? your app doesnt have any text code, only nibs? try unchecking the window's one shot property in the inspector. otherwise you'll probably have to write some code and implement an action method, or register for a notification.

MacOS9.2.1 is this the end for 7300-8600

9.2.1 only runs on the same macs as OSX itself, i.e. G3s and up. The only improvements are for Classic support though, so it'd be kind of pointless to install 9.2.1 as a standalone OS

I have PC133 RAM in my G4/400 AGP. Try swapping the RAM from slot to slot.

    I wish...

Well, to give credit where it's due, I think app hiding was implemented in Switcher, before Jobs even left Apple to form NeXT. It didn't have a keyboard command though.

    Rhapsody mockup shot, circa 1997

In practice, these objections don't hold up (at least not in my experience.) I've been using OSX all day every day since 2-3 days after the beta came out, and I've hit the wrong window control exactly once (yes, I've been counting). And that was when I went to hit the zoom button and hit the...

Fitt's law is another reason why the dock is better off at the bottom of the screen, regardless of the ability to move it (which I do support.) Try it: start from wherever your mouse is now, and flick the it to the bottom of the screen, then 'scrub' across as if over a row of icons. Then move...

launch /Applications/Utilities/Net Info Manager, scroll down & click on the users line, select the user you want to change, click the lock & enter your passwd, then change all the references to the old username to the new one. You'd also prabably have to mv and chown the old home directory to...
