I did an archive and install and couldn't open up terminal or login through >console. before the upgrade, my shell was /usr/local/bin/bash (I installed it). I had to adjust netinfo to use /bin/bash so I can use terminal (as /usr/local/bin/bash disappeared)

I have tried ksh on SCO machine and don't like it. I would rather stick with bash

I like to use vim...with some vim customization and terminal emulation tweaks...one can get colors in the coding

how about getting a PowerMac G5 with a single G5 processor? It will be little more expensive because you will have to get some monitors.....

try this: cd cp -p .profile .bashrc then run: ls -a to see all the files including hidden ones (should see .profile and .bashrc files) I believe this only works when you are logged in.

hmmm, you're right texapenguin. using namespace should have saved me using the scope operator. I try again with without the scope operator
