    Browserwar turnaround?

Hi, okay, OmniWeb is a beautiful browser. still, it is slow, very slow. IE isn't better, but has a slightly better Javascript and CSS support. That's why i still used IE. I don't like the looks of ;-) And even those skins turn me off. I have never seen a skin like <a...

    Setting up Sendmail & PHP

Hi, it looks like as if sendmail <i>is</i> running. Otherwise you wouldn't this mail would not have been delivered to you. Do a: "ps auxw |grep sendmail" a check wether sendmail is running or not. If it is running check "/var/log/system.log" and "/var/log/mail.log" for errors. Maybe it's a...

    Telneting in to restart processes

IIRC the version 10.0.1 of MacOSX came with ssh. Since then telnet is disabled, but you can login via ssh. Get the nice littele app "Putty" for Windows (Freeware) and try it with ssh. This should work. cu:Stray

    networking

Netatalk doesn't help much at the moment. There is a severe copatibility problem with netatalk on a linux-box and the appletalk-stack on macosx. Samba isn't much of an option right now, because you cannot mount a samba share on your osx-box (still, the otherway works fine.) The best thing to do...

Missing chown & misleading man pages

Hi, i do not know anything about that "chown"-issue. Works fine with me ;-) Some unix-apps do not have all options on all builds. I.e. "top" lacks the option to sort the display on Darwin. HTH cu:Stray

    Telneting in to restart processes

No, that is not the way to do things ;-) Go to your, hmmm... "run" button, type "telnet ip-of-your-osx-box" and wait till you see the login prompt. Provide username and login and you'll inside your osx-box. And, no you won't have any graphical-windows or anything. No "open"-command. Nothing...

    compiling xchat

the "thing" which configure is missing is "cc", which is a c-compiler. You'll need that to translate the sourcecode into a binary-code for <strong>your</strong> machine, and it is part of the developer tools. Without that no compiling... On the other hand, if you don't have them installed you...

    Has anybody successfully compiled x3270?

By taking a brief look at the given documentation, you should be able to compile and install it when your system matches the requirements listed below: <ul> <li>Installed XWindow-system</li> <li>Give HostType in configure-script</li> </ul> Maybe there is more to it. But, hey i...
