    10.1 bootable?

Does anyone know if the $20 version that you can get from Apple when it becomes available through the uptodate program will just be an update over the current OS X or it will be a full version that is bootable? In the past, I was able to get a full version of 9.1 CD updating from 9 for $20...

Disconnecting logged in users and hackers

Doesn't seem to work. I however did get the PID using Top command to get the ssh PID and typed kill PID. It killed the terminal on my win2000 machine I was using to log onto my mac. I typed who on my mac but said it was still logged in. Any ideas? I just want to boot him off. I wish I could type...

Disconnecting logged in users and hackers

I tried the ps -aux | awk '/tcsh && ! awk/ { print $1, $2 }' command and the PID comes up. But when I type kill 365 it says no such process. This PID always changes too. Any easy ways?

Yes! It works with SSH. 10.0.4 did indeed disable telnet access. SSH login works like a charm.

I have the remote login option checked on my X machine too. Is there some other way like typing the machine name? is so, what is the machine name...

A sure way to crash OSX

I think it was mentioned before that it was a hard crash where all processes were dead so that even telneting in would not work. Anyways, pardon me for my ignorance. Sheesh.

A sure way to crash OSX

I went to www.planetoftheapes.com and it had flash all over the site and right at the intro, my whole system (10.04 and IE5.11) crashed hard. Couldn't even force quit or move the mouse. Is this reproduceable to all you X users out there? I reported this to apple. Where the heck is the memory...

A sure way to crash OSX

This seems to be a deeper problem then just IE and flash. OSX should not be brought down. Isn't this the whole point about memory protection? This is one nasty problem. No sweat though, a similar thing happens with my Win2k machine when I access a funky site. Just Freezes. But OSX?.....:(
