thanks guys! your help is much appreciated -- but i may not be being clear. when i create a NEW folder shft+cmnd+n it wont open in the right pre-planned way/format ie, i want a NEW folder to automatically open in say....LIST VIEW with the 2nd column being SIZE instead, a NEWLY CREATED...

good idea -- though i've trashed that before and doesn't it make a bunch of stuff wonky? what will i lose when i trash that? ps: these two problems have existed ever since i started with osx 10.4 -- doesn't seem to matter about the plist.... anyone else notice this??

hiya -- how can i delete information from a picture- so the picture no longer shows up in my Finder search? i tend to search using the Finder Command-F searchbox i put in the word "party" and all these unrelated pictures come up. i assume there's some appendant info attached to the pic...

yeah- just from doing a lil converting from mp3 to aac i seem to be saving 1/3 in memory (and i need the extra mpegs...) seems to be no loss in quality....

thanks to all. version tracker gave me Butler, which i like. launches apps, etc. i still think it'd be nice to have this as a part of OS true, you can set some things to keystrokes from the System Prefs, but it actually says in MacHelp that you CANT launch an app. silly, methinks.
