    Let's talk soundcards

Based on that, maybe I should just get a 2.1 combined amp/speaker kit and plug it straight into my G4? I'm not doing pro audio (yet). All I want is decent quality sound (MP3s) emanating from my new 'pooter.

    Let's talk soundcards

Interesting, thanks for that... I was told that anything that would fit in a PCI slot would work as a soundcard, be it built for PC or Mac?

    Let's talk soundcards

OK, no bones about it- the built in speaker (Powermac G4) is rubbish (and others?). Do you guys use the built in soundcard and connect an external amp/speaker combination to the headphone socket on the back? Or do most people have another soundcard wired up to external amplification and...

    Menu extras

In attempting to open my second (non existent?!) CD drive tray, I have put an eject and display icon on the menu bar at the top right. I did this by double-clicking "eject.menu" in system/library/coreservices/menu extras. and now I can't seem to get rid of it. On top of that, the "display"...

Getting the second tray to eject

Excuse me for being very, very dim... but how do I get the bottom CD tray to eject on my G4 (OSX 10.2.8)? Attached is a pic of the machine. Is there no second drive- the bottom hole is simply a cover in case I want to put one in? I bought this machine a week ago from work, where it never...

nEWIBIE Mac Lady Needs Advice Please

(I'm not using IE or Safari- I'm using Firefox, so apologies if this is not good info). Go to "window", then "zoom". Job done. Oh, and access to the desktop... well, I have my desktop on the left screen and the web browser on the right screen. It's OK for us people with dual screens :)
