We have been trying to switch our first machine from 9 to os x . The mac is set up with multiple users but when we save a project file into the users/shared folder the next user to log in cannot modify/overwrite it , he has to "save as" and on a big job with much colaborative work this is not...

I think you could set up OSX to the internet and your os9 on the local ethernet then enter the OSX ip address into "gateway" in your TCP control panel and the OSX would connect you to the internet . ( bet someones going to tell me im wrong now! )

Dear Scruff Thanks for the tips , I farted about for ages with nifty Telnet but only when I restarted OSX did it suddenly let me in . Its fine now. cheerio Mark

Ah yes well mental arithmetic .... I saw that there was an allow remote login via terminal apps and wanted to try . Your correct Nifty Telnet doesn't do me much good from OS9 . thanks anyway Mark

what port should I use to login to OSX via telnet from an OS9 machine? (default 23 is always refused) regards Mark
