    Windows programs on tiger?

I've often thought Apple should release iChat for Windows, that'd grab in a few more cross platform users, and expand the user base too.

Backup software ?? has to be easy to use.

Aaah, I love Zurich. I have to go over to Austria a couple of times a year, Innsbruck, so it's always top of my list to nip over the border and take in the Swiss lifestyle. *Sigh*

    Virtual PC Backup when upgrading.

My friend wants to upgrade his Powerbook to Tiger, I have recommended he do a clean install just to make sure it's all hunky dory and to back up first. Apparently, the only thing he is concerned about are his virtual PC settings. He has quite a bit of Banking/Finance software that requires...

Apple sightings on TV and movies?

For those of you in the UK and Oz, Paul Robinson, long time baddie in 'Neighbours' seems to be doing all his scheming on a 15" Powerbook these days. He even used the DVD player not long ago. :p

iTunes 5 - What would you like to see?

Apparently not, Apple are calling them '4G with colour screens'. :o

iTunes 5 - What would you like to see?

With rumours flying around that the 5G iPods will be released at the same time as an iTunes 5, it occurred to me I wasn't really sure what could be added to iTunes to make it any more useful to me. It organises my music, thats about it! Any of you guys got any things you'd like to see...

    Panther STILL Rules Over Tiger?

I loved Panther, and had no problems with it at all. However, when I upgraded to Tiger I noticed a definite speed jump, and even though it probably doesn't have all the 'bells and whistles' of the Jaguar-Panther upgrade, for productivity it's second to none. Spotlight, Automator, Smart Folders...

Weather widget forgotten whether its widgeting weather.

My WW has been working great (set to London UK), then yesterday, things started going a bit strange, with the weather sticking to the same temperature. I've got out of bed this morning only to find out it's still night time, 31c and theres a thunderstorm outside. Slighty inaccurate. Is...

Please don't call it a Macintosh

I was as surprised as most people about the Chip change. However, I got over it in a few minutes. I really think some of you guys need to get outside a bit more. There are far more important things in life. To help sum it up, our entire household has a Mac each (2 Powerbooks and 2 iBooks)...

    Mac to use Intel Chips!

Jesus. After a quick trip around the worlds forums, I am shocked (and a little worried) about how negative everyone is being, assumming the worst before anything has actually happened. Mind you, thats the way things are these days, the majority of news stories just seems be based on someones...

    Mac to use Intel Chips!

Something just occurred to me. Are we likely to see the next upgrade of OS X to 10.5 on the new machines? All released at the same time? That would be a major marketing blitz for Apple. New OS, and new chips all in one go.

    Mac to use Intel Chips!

Tsk, why do people always react so negatively to news when the facts haven't even been released yet? Obviously, I'm interested to see how this all goes, but if Apple have been working on this for 5 years you can bet that the majority of their Apps already work on Intel, and the fact that Adobe...

Internet Security - getting the wrong message!!!

LMAO, yes I'm waiting now with baited breath...... To help you with your question. You don't need Norton Antivirus. There are the grand total of zero viruses for OS X. As OS X is written totally differently to Windows OS any viruses you get for Windows will just sit in your inbox...

    How would you rate Tiger?

My productivity has improved already with Spotlight, Automator, Smart folders etc. Plus I've noticed some quite decent speed improvements over all. To my own surprise, I'm actually finding the Dashboard useful too, rather than eye candy.

    Tiger on PowerBook G4 1.25GHz 512RAM

Much, much faster on my PB. All apps are faster, and general day to day stuff. I also noticed Disk Utility much faster for repairing permissions too.

    Tiger and Office 04

No problems here. I've even finally dumped Entourage for Mail 2, Address Book and iCal, and don't regret it at all. Much faster working in fact.

    Thinks I don't like about 10.4

It's the opposite for me. I installed Tiger, just for the sake of it really, but now I keep finding more and more useful stuff. I'm loving Mail 2, Spotlight, Widgets (Screen Grab, Weather and clocks most useful for me). Safari is much much faster. Automator is the biggest fun for me. I'm a...

    Using Backup to, er Backup.

I use the .Mac backup software regularly. I have used it in the past to put all of my information on a new Powerbook after my previous one was nicked. Does the Backup software work okay with Tiger? Has anyone tried it? Ideally I'd like to do a clean install of Tiger, then install my stuff that...

RAM not showing up after repair

THanbks MrNivit1, Things have got a bit more curious though, I took it all out, and tested both RAM cards out, in both different slots. It seems that if there is only one RAM slot loaded (either one) it is recognised. But if both slots are full, it only recognises one or the other. I'm...
