Thunderbird 3 marks deleted mail as read - why?

I have only the default folders in the Local Folders. I do delete junk without reading it. I would like to have a way to stop the application from changing its read/unread status. I would still like to see some difference in the appearance of the Deleted folder if there is anything in it. I...

Thunderbird 3 marks deleted mail as read - why?

No, that does not make sense. If I deleted something by mistake, it would be nice if its status were left alone to make it a bit easier to pick out among the other stuff in there. There is also the problem that the Deleted (Trash) folder does not change its appearance if there are only...

Thunderbird 3 marks deleted mail as read - why?

Using stylesheet code, for Thunderbird 3 email folders, I could find only a method of determining that there were unread messages in them. Is there any way to indicate that a folder contains read messages?

Thunderbird 3 marks deleted mail as read - why?

I have noticed that Thunderbird 3 marks any mail that is deleted as having been read whether it has been or not. Why? What logical reason could there possibly be for such a setup? How does one prevent that from happening? Is there any setting that can be added to about:config to prevent that?

    Thunderbird userChrome.css code

Is there any stylesheet code that can specify a folder being not empty? I was trying to get the Deleted (Trash) folder in the email accounts to change colour when it has any content in TB3, and I have been unable to find anything about distinguishing empty folders from non-empty ones. There must...

iTunes will not import some .mp3 files.

In order to get iTunes to add a tune to its library, I choose "Music" in the sidebar area, hit cmd-o to open the directory where the tune is, and click on that tune. The file is imported (or rather the information is - I prefer to have only the info in there) into the list of tunes, then I drag...

Awkward loading email with Tbird 3.0 RC 1

I just started using TB 3.0 RC1 on Mac OS, and I have it set to receive only email headers at first. The email messages are not loading into the window after I click the link to load the body. I have to close the window with the link and go back and double click the message again to get the...

    Style for Safari?

I set up a stylesheet to be used to change the colours of page elements in Safari. The background colour changes work, but the text colour does not always override the colour set in the page code. Why is that? I used !important to try to force my colour to override, but that does not seem to...

    Strange Characters on Web Pages

I doubt that changing the font family will help, however I have Firefox set to allow pages to set their own fonts. The default sans serif font I have is Helvetica. On that page, I changed my character encoding to Western (ISO-8859-1), and the strange character disappeared.

    Strange Characters on Web Pages

Pull down the View menu and change the text encoding. Using Unicode will likely fix the problem. If the browser is already set to use Unicode, change to Western.

    Photos display much too small!

I dislike the way iPhoto stores image files, so after iPhoto has loaded the pictures from my camera, I enhance them if they need it with iPhoto, then drag them out of iPhoto one by one and drop them into a normal directory, where I can rename them and use other applications to crop them and put...

    jar launcher help

What are you trying to do with the .jar file? Are you trying to edit files in it? If so, you can open that file with Zipeg, drag the files out and drop them into a directory, edit them if necessary, then drop them back into the archive in the same place where you got them (the same subdirectory).

A myriad of problems: no apple menu functionality...

Perhaps just reinstalling the last combo update to Mac OS 10.4.11 would fix it. If not, you probably will need to install the whole operating system from disk all over again.
