By gateway, I take it that you mean Router address? And they both should be set to the same: 10.0.1.254. As is the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 the same setting. Also if it matters the, 8500 is running 8.6. Thanks

Could it be 10.3.9? I've heard a lot of comlaints about that. Was this a problem before upgrading to 10.3.9? I don't know just guessing.

Hate to say it, but I just had a similar problem with the installer. Mine just wouldn't launch, no message, just wouldn't launch nor install. I re-installed my system, with a clean install, and now in the process of gathering everything up to return to my working mode. Good luck

Definitely sounds like an extension issue. Best I can recommend is to divide and conquer. By that I mean turn 1/2 of you extensions OFF. Save this. try a restart. If it starts, one of these OFF extensions is the culprit. If it doesn't start up, turn the OFF extensions On and the other half OFF...
