Thats the funny thing: he says he didn't install any new software between the last time he opened his SysPrefs and when he noticed it, and this guy is a mac guru. Someone must know about this.

A buddy of mine who also just got a G5 had this icon show up in his System Preferences 'other' pane the other day. Does anyone know how to enable this feature? He doesn't know what he did.

Yeah - I have an Athlon XP 1800 box that I do some video conversions on, so it's not really an issue for me either. I would just like to see my G5 run XP faster than my Athlon. ;-)

It's just a window that coders use to open pop-up windows on annoying web sites. Usually it is coded to come up off screen. Expose forced it to come on screen. Thats my guess anyway.

My apologies if this has been covered. I bought my 1.6 G5 right when they came out at my schools computer store. How do I go about getting the free (19.95) Panther from Apple? Do I have to go through the schools computer shop or can I get it from Apple's website? Thanks for any help.

That is funny....he says it limits the choice of Windows users...that they are used to have a variety of options. Looks like they have already chose considering that the iPod has over 30% of the digital media player market. Since when was M$ an advocate of consumer choice.

I was always very dissappointed in the performance of Fireworks under all previous versions of OS X. With my G5 1.6 with 768 MB of RAM, OMG! it runs so much faster. I can't wait to see more apps optimized for the G5 and then some true 64-bit apps come out. Anyway...like I said - Fireworks...
