I figured it out with your help. All I needed to do was go to the Printers & Scanners panel, select the + for adding then the FAX tab. It shows the USB modem. I just select it and I got my FAX back.

I guess you do not understand. I have an USB fax modem which has worked fine until now with 10.9.5. One goes to print then hits the PDF button. There should be a drop down menuitem FAX PDF. It is missing. It does not matter what printer is selected.

Apple's Software Update did not indicate that there were any printer driver updates available, What driver should I look for on my Mac?

No I can do none of the above. But I did find that these images are stored at users/nealnt/documents/screenshots with a name like modified2/png. Deleting this file deletes the icon on the desktop.

Unfortunately the icon is not resizable. I did find it in the following folder: users/nealnt/documents/screenshots/modified2/png. .

I have a mac pro with 3 hds in it. One seems to be buzzing. To isolate the one I want to unmount and spindown the individual hd. Anyone know how to do this?

Just manually drag the folders from the windows they appear in to the sidebar.

What you could do is buy the cheapest iPad you can find, even used. Then connect the iPad to a LCD monitor of your choice of size and price. This would allow you to have a rather large display.

Sometimes my menubar goes dim when I open mail or sometimes safari. Activity monitor and force quit will not open. Restarting does not help. It is ok when first booted up but then fails again. Restarting in safe mode and then restarting in normal does seem to clear up the problem. Anyone have...

For me what I found (I think) is the following: Disk utility shows: 256 Samsung SSD EFI (dimmed) Macintosh SSD (the Startup partition) Recovery HD (dimmed) One must select Macintosh SSD not 256 Samsung SSD to get repair to work. Any comments?

Yes TM was trying to back up all my 4 drives in the Mac Pro! I excluded all but my primary Startup disk and all is well.

I have a 250 Gb startup disk with 100 Gb in use. TM says I need a 2 Tb disk for backup. I realize that you want the backup disk to have extra space but 20 times as much! What am I missing?
