    swap that processor out and see if you still have the issue. This issue could be ENTIRELY related to it. Wacky things like this happen when you mess with processors. Also, if you swap back in your old chip, and noticed that it still does it, then something else is damaged... so you may need to...

    I've heard that you can use the new stuff on a mac with 10.3.X with low speed USB... Don't know about PC. Worst case scenario, you have to buy a card for 20 bucks, so not all is lost. :D

    Yes, to confirm, my 12" G4 iBook has a 4200 drive from the factory (the 30 gig job) confrimed by GSX. To my knowledge, the 14" iBook's also have this drive. Researched a little bit, and the average quoted speed of a 4200 internal drive is about 100mbit peak. Compared to FW's 480 peak...
