I have never seen that before, and all Macs I've ever used have more than one admin account (as a safety net in case my own account self-destructs, which has happened in the past!) Try repairing permissions in Disk Utility.

Probably it's due to the Bluetooth keyboard not being loaded until after the point at which you would need to press the T key. I couldn't swear this is the case though, as I don't have one to test. The easiest option would be to find a wired USB keyboard and try that instead. Perhaps someone who...

You ought to be able to tell if the dock has restarted by the Process ID. If it actually does relaunch, then this number will change.
