iPad audio (USB input for audio)

Hi, In the audio setup I'm finally completing (woot) I use an USB audio interface (http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/UCA222.aspx) to send the signal between a MB and the mixer (that connects the monitors). Recently I got an iPad to play with, in particularl for some audio toys I have...

Looking for a universal chat client

Dear, I'm looking for a single chat client that supports: - Google Chat - Skype - AIM - MSN - Facebook chat (is this even possible?) Is there anything out there that supports this or some of these? I know of Adium but that works badly at the best of times) ... Kr, Frederik-Jan.

    Tweaking iTunes

For reference The USB 2.0 HD was a problem. The 1Tb WD Elements drive is _so_ slow even with the 7200 RPM drive in there it cause all the delays. Probably it's just slow constantly accessing different sectors. I bought a 320 Gb HD for in the MacBook, installed OS 10.6 and everything works...

    Tweaking iTunes

Went and bought 4 Gb today, feels much zipper. There's still lag in iTunes, but less ... luckily. Overall though it's a vast improvement. The MacBook downclocked 2 800Mhz sticks to run at 667Mhz but they run, shrug.

    Tweaking iTunes

One last question, referring to this article : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1651 I was thinking of buying PC2-6400 2Gb 800Mhz modules for the MacBook, though my model is older than the 2009 model, which is the only one that accepts 800Mhz modules. However, I distinctly remember looking...

    Tweaking iTunes

The drive is one of those WD Elements drive though it's not the spinning down that's the problem. It's not the typical unresponsiveness you get from a HD starting back up I'm afraid :) Since iTunes can be such a RAM hog as you describe (and it feels) I'll probably go fetch me some fancy new...

    Tweaking iTunes

Hi, I recently installed the new OS X on my MacBook 13" (the 2Ghz Dual Core white one) hoping it would increase the performance of the system, and specifically iTunes. (MacBook: http://apple-history.com/?page=gallery&model=mb_late_07) My iTunes library, like many out there, is large...

Setting up a Network between Vista, XP and OS X

The most important would be to connect my MacBook with my home PC. My laptop from work doesn't need to be connected to the network per se. Though I'll definitely check that link for getting a Mac in a Windows Domain! I'll fidget some around and keep you posted!

Setting up a Network between Vista, XP and OS X

Dear, I've been looking around and trying out some things, alas I can't find an easy solution to my (probably) fairly simple problem. A small forum search for network listed either no results (in the HOWTO department) or too much to be bothered with more than 10 pages (in general). My...

Regular vs. Smart Playlists in iTunes

I'm currently using a combination of normal and smart playlists in iTunes. I've got normal playlists for all my albums, and smart playlists for music I have as an album but never really listen to as an album, for example, my Jazz smart playlist consists every song with the genre as "Jazz"...

Not able to delete some (2) mails

Hi, I've had this error for well over 8 months now with 2 mails in my Mail.app. The problem with these 2 mails is that I'm unable to delete them. When I select them, press "delete" on the keyboard, or move them to trash, or any of the similar options I have to delete mails they just become...

MacBook Pro rejecting all recordable CDs

Yeah, definitely :) AppleCare payed off big time on my old PowerBook G4 I ended up using for 6 years :) I'll bring it in and have it fixed then I guess. Sigh, bring me a replacement Easter bunny? :p

MacBook Pro rejecting all recordable CDs

Hi, On a MacBook Pro 17" I bought about 4 months ago it appears to be rejecting all recordable CDs. It makes no distinction between Recorded Audio, Software or unwritten CDRs. It makes a "funny" clicking noise when inserting recordables. It has no issue with standard factory audio CDs and...

iLife or No iLife with Leopard

Wouldn't it be possible to boot the old Macs with their original restore discs and to just install iPhoto and the like seperately? Or at least drag out the packages using some tool or another?

    Booting with the T-key?

When you hold down the T-key when booting, you'll boot your Mac as an external HD on Firewire or SCSI. This we all know :) What I was wondering, why the letter "T"? From "booT"? No idea really :)
