HP updated their PSC 950 drivers to support 10.1 on 1/4. Finally! Mike

HP posted the updated driver on 1-4-01. Works great so far. I'm going to try rebuilding my iMac at 10.1 from scratch -- instead of "upgrade" and see what happens. Mike

Actually if I could SCAN from an ethernet-equipped PSC950, I'd spend the $$$. I've got a new iMac on order, and since it comes with 10.1 I simply won't be able to use my HP PSC950 AT ALL. HP, you've GOT to get this fixed! Mike

I actually tried iTunes v2.0.3 or something like that under Classic last night. Didn't work, and I didn't mess with it much. I tend to not use Classic -- don't even know my way around there that well. I always ran LinuxPPC before MacOS X came out. I did find if I _upgrade_ to 10.1, instead...

Sorry, no, what I meant was my PRINTER / SCANNER / COPIER (PSC) 950, which is advertised as working w/MacOS X, does NOT work with MacOS X.1. Mike

The HP PSC950 works w/MacOS X (which is why I bought it). It does NOT work at all under MacOS 10.1. HP has promised an updated driver since November-ish, but nothing yet... :-(

My HP PSC950 stopped working under MacOS 10.0.4 the other day (worked fun w/Classic though!) so I re-installed MacOS X. Did the updates, re-installed the printer, all is well. I noticed today that I don't have iTunes. The only one I can find from Apple is v2.x, which requires 10.1! WTF...

I've been running MacOS X on my 256M, 266Mhz iMac since it was first available. I like it. 10.1 is MUCH better, but it doesn't play nice with my printer. :-( Mike

10.1 was GREAT on my 256M 266Mhz iMac. I eventually went back to 10.0.4 though, so my HP PSC 950 (printer / scanner / copier / fax) software would work correctly. Bummer! Mike

Update - installed 10.0, did the "software update", but I'm not sure what it did -- it's the one before it offers 10.0.4. "About" says build 4K78. Everything appears to work fine. I'm DL'ing the 10.0.4 update now. Mike

I keep looking at printer / copier / scanner combos that say "MacOS 9 or later", but I don't have a "warm fuzzy" that they will really work under MacOS X. I don't have MacOS 9 installed, or any classic anything. Can anyone recommend a printer & scanner or ideally a printer / scanner combo...
