    remounting smb shares

Finder needed to be in quotes. This script still doesn't work though. It now says "Can't get "smb://;:-@/-". Even if I put domain, user, password and share, it still doesn't work.

    Tropico

I bought Tropico cause it was one of the first games out with the "Build for OS X" label. And let me tell you, it is NOT built for OS X. I have never gotten it to even start. It sucks to switch to OS 9 to play it, so I just quit playing. I feel kinda ripped off after buying this game. There...

Will I ever be able to purchase an internal superdrive?

I'm new to the Mac world, so forgive me if this is a stupid question. I own a dual 533 PowerMac G4 and it came with a DVD-ROM drive. I'm disappointed that I bought the Mac before the superdrive was an option. So, now I am wondering, will I ever be able to purchase an internal superdrive to...

Does anyone out there have Tropico (simulation type game from Poptop software) running natively under OS X? I was able to run it using classic, but it crashed and haven't gotten it to run on OS X at all now. I have been looking for an email address to send mail to infogrames support, but...

how do you change the file to app association

You can have the Genius title back. Setting the file type and creator to "????" worked. How does the file type and creator get set originally? I couldn't see the file type and creator information on Show Info, should I have been? Maybe I did, but it was labeled differently. Thanks for...

how do you change the file to app association

Actually, I spoke to soon. I downloaded a dmg.gz file, did a show info on it and the "Change Application..." button was dim. I'm able to open the specific document with the StuffIt Expander, but it doesn't save that as the generic application for this type. How do I get the 'Change...

how do you change the file to app association

Were can I look to change the application associated when I double click on a file? Specifically my problem is, when I double click on a gzip or tar file a different app desides to unpack it and it fails. I want to switch it back to StuffIt Expander. Thanks, Troy

    ONI by bungie

Thanks ezra. I found the demo and played it a little. I hope the game can go to a higher resolution than 640x480. Playing the demo, I sometimes loose the video and the mouse is real sensitive. Thanks again, -T

is it possible to use my video camera with iMovie2 on OSX

I have a 8mm video camera that I would like to use with iMovie2. I probably need something like 'My Video' from Eskage (www.eskapelabs.com) in order to hook the video camer up to the mac, but I'm unsure that iMovie2 would be able to read from it. Is anyone using iMovie2 w/o a digital video...

I think what you want to type is: defaults write com.apple.Terminal TerminalOpaqueness x Didn't know the defaults command existed, that's pretty handy for somethings. -Troy

Cool. I've heard of tinkertool, just didn't think I wanted anything it did. Looks like that setting tricks the "TerminalOpaqueness" in com.apple.Terminal.plist in your ~/Library/Preferencees directory. Thanks for the info. -Troy:cool:

Did you do anything special to your terminal window in order to see the iTunes window behind it. Mine doesn't do that. Maybe because I have my background set on the terminal to black. -Troy
