    XPostFacto Expertise Needed

Hello all, I'm helping someone who is in desperate need of XPostFacto help. He has a clamshell iBook, pre-FireWire, and also has Tiger CDs. He's having problems getting Tiger to install, even with XPostFacto. It still tells him that it cannot install on his computer, at the first panel of OS...

    Wanted: eMac under $300

Recently, my beige G3 passed on, and I've been without a server since. I'm looking into an eMac because it's simple enough for what I need, and they're found dirt cheap on eBay -- although the auctions always seem to end while I'm away. Anywho, I'd appreciate anyone who could step forward and...

How do I find out more?

Hi, Like you, I'm also an aspiring coder. I'm a bit further down the line, but the same, nonetheless. Learning how to code is a fun task, and I suggest starting with a simple, easy-to-manipulate code: HTML. A great site to learn about HTML (and other web development languages - I suggest...

Piggybacking on my last post, I also have no permissions on NoWonder.com. At all. I can't even view the home page. Possibly the same fix you implemented on MacOSX.com? Joey Lange MacOSX.com Volunteer

    Clamshell iBook + FireWire?

So, if I were to find a port and a chip, I could theoretically add FireWire to the old iBook? Sounds like a fun challenge. Maybe I can eBay up a dead clamshell with FireWire to get the chip :) Thanks for the thoughts - if you'd like a photo of the contacts on the board, I'll open her up...

    easy-to-type-on keyboard ???

If you are looking for an "easy-to-type-on" keyboard, I would suggest the IceKey from Macally. http://macally.com/spec/usb/input_device/icekey.html It is pretty much a laptop keyboard made for desktop use.

    Clamshell iBook + FireWire?

Hi, I'm the proud owner of a Clamshell iBook, 300Mhz original. Today, I dove into it and did a full dissasembly and reassembly. (I was really, really bored.) During my hacking and slashing and unscrewing and screwing back together, I noticed something: there are pin spots on the logic board...

    iBook Clamshell Q & A's!

Yup. You can go as far as 10.3.9 (Panther) without much effort. Just make sure you have a clamshell with a Hard Drive that is 6GB or bigger..3.2 it just barely enough. Also, make sure you have enough RAM. Panther likes anything from 128 (minimally). 10.4 is possible, but takes a much more...

Here's a quote from one of my macosx.com clients (I'm a volunteer), and I could easily answer the first half, so I left that out. The second part, however, stumped me. Maybe you guys can help? Thanks, jlange
