It still isn't working.. it says "No DVDs found" in the Device Name menu...

This vlc thing isn't working.. I set it to open vlc in the preferences but when I put the dvd in still nothing happens..

It ignores it when I put a dvd in the drive, because in the system preferences there is a control panel for "cds & dvds" and it's set to ignore them because there isn't anything else it can do with them since I have no application for them..

Well I am definitely going to buy the Tiger CD, but not yet because I'm broke. lol. I was just wondering if I could somehow get the dvd player early because I'm impatient..?

Thanks. I don't have the install disc because I bought the computer second hand and the computer came with Tiger on it but the guy never gave me any discs with it.. I have no dvd player in the applications folder, but I'm positive I have a dvd drive and I don't know why it isn't there.. but is...

I know that's probably a stupid question and I looked on the Apple site at http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/dvdplayer/ but it doesn't tell me how to get it, just the update. I don't have the Tiger dvd if it's on that, although I have the system and a dvd drive so I'm sure it would work...

I'm not a complete moron, I know how to burn cds.. but for some reason it's just not working for me right now. I insert the disk, click initialize, and put the stuff onto the disk that I want to burn, then go to 'burn cd', and after it's finished initializing, it spits it out and says an error...

Well, he's on "macosx.com" in the "Mac OS X system & Mac Software".. so it's quite probable. To a lot of people "virus" can mean anything that makes your computer not work properly..

Download the 10.4.1 and 4.2 updates off the apple site onto my computer that has system 10.1.5 and copy them onto my computer that has 10.4?

Why can't I install OS 9? It won't let me do it by starting up from the disc and it won't let me do it by just opening it in Tiger.. but I have the OS 9.2 install disc.. what am I doing wrong?
