    Firefox Add-Ons aren't "adding on"

That only seems to create a .xpi file.

    Firefox Add-Ons aren't "adding on"

When I go to "errors", I find this message: "Warning: Error in parsing value for property 'cursor'. Declaration dropped. Source File: https://addons.mozilla.org/css/rustico/addons-rustico.css Line: 338" I don't know if that means anything...

    Firefox Add-Ons aren't "adding on"

I have a PowerBook G4. I have found that anytime I try to download a Firefox add-on, I get the pop-up window asking permission to install, I grant permission to install, I can see the download, and then NOTHING is showing up in the "Add-On" pop-up window under the "Installation" tab. I have...

PowerBook G4 will NOT boot up. :-(

Oh, nevermind. I removed the battery to find the serial number, and now it works again...

PowerBook G4 will NOT boot up. :-(

I have a PowerBook G4 purchased directly from apple as a refurb in January of '06, so still within the 1 year warrantly, but the last time I called under warranty they wanted to troubleshoot for software problems before they'd accept it back. So I thought I might ask for input before I called...

    iBook G3 battery in a PowerBook G4?

I'm about at that place myself. And my boyfriend pointed out that if I am using it on my lap, chances are I would notice it overheating in plenty of time to remove the battery and shut down the computer.

    iBook G3 battery in a PowerBook G4?

I'm probably all wet here, which is why I wanted to get some learned opinions before I even seriously considered this option... My new PowerBook G4's battery was, lucky me, among those recently recalled. I dutifully ordered my replacement, and have set aside the old battery for return. In...

    Worldwide Battery recall?

I got a lovely e-mail from Apple, the first I had heard of the recall. The website I was directed to was https://support.apple.com/ibook_powerbook/batteryexchange/ This IS a legitimate website, you can get there directly from apple's site via support, under exchanges & extensions on the...

    Mail program won't open

I have a PowerBook G4 with Mac OS X 10.4.5. I have owned the computer since early 2006 without any troubles. A couple days ago, I noticed that when I double-clicked on my Mail program, it would bounce in Dock, but then never actually open the program. If I go into Applications, it tells me...

    Sound cuts in and out.

Do I need to backup everything before I try this, or should my files be safe? I know I really need to create backups just as standard procedure, but I don't see that happening unless I can maybe get to it over the long weekend.

    Sound cuts in and out.

Guess I better go pick up some more DVDs; I have a pretty good number of music files to back up. :(

    Sound cuts in and out.

That appears to have been a temporary fix; the problem has resurfaced, and rebooting no longer helps. :(

    Sound cuts in and out.

Oh. I think my computer was just telling me I had been a bad, neglectful person; I rebooted and all is well with my world... Carry on. :)

    Sound cuts in and out.

I am hopeful that someone might be able to walk me through troubleshooting this. I have a PowerBook G4 with 10.4.5, purchased as a refurb from Apple in January of this year. Yesterday while watching videos the sound was fading in and out, and I initially thought it was a problem with the video...

    Refurbished means dead?

WooHoodily, the replacement laptop arrived in yesterday's FedEx and is performing beautifully. The outbound shipment returning the original laptop to California has not had the tracking updated since it hit Charlotte, NC yesterday. Most likely, this is an indication that the shipment is in the...

    Refurbished means dead?

Well, my thread was mostly a vent, but also a rant that initially, I was looking at a week+ turnaround time to get a working unit. I was not so much upset that the laptop arrived damaged, life happens. I was not so much upset that Apple would want the original laptop back before sending out a...

    Refurbished means dead?

It will be another refurb. Which is perfectly fine, that is, after all, what I paid for. I do expect it to WORK though.

    Refurbished means dead?

Okay, there IS a work-around to the delay in computeredness, if one is politely persistent. :) I called FedEx, and since the ground shipment hadn't gone out yet, they were able to pull it so that I could come by with an overnight-shipping label. I called Apple to let them know that I would...

    Superior Service Still Exists!

See, if they can send an OVERNIGHT shipping label for a repair issue, why can't they send an overnight shipping label to the woman who calls less than an hour and half after receiving her computer to seek tech support for the Blue Screen of Death and finally be told by tech support, after...

    Refurbished means dead?

On Tuesday, January 10, 2006, I ordered a refurbished Powerbook G4 1.5 GHz. My iBook G3 had suffered the fateful logic board malfunction several days prior, and I put off ordering a replacement until after MacWorld, then made my decision about what product I should order, and placed the order...
