I'm running Jag on my iBook 600mhz. Let me tell ya, the ram helps. Running it with 128mb was extremely slow, but with 640mb apps launch faster and the system is much more responsive.

Sure sounds hard for a novice to do. Imagine the work that must go into creating a web browser that displays pages correctly. I guess you could make a web browser that just lets you download text or something simple like that.

Ok I looked at the CPU there seems to be a white powdery substance (looks like it fried) in the upper right corner of the cpu.

Hard disk just spins, I'm going to take a look at the CPU right now, though. BRB. :)

Anyway to tell if its a blown ethernet controller? If the symptoms you describe aren't present physically, could it still be a bad CPU?
