HELP!!!! Missing Plug In When Packaging in CS 3 InDesign

Try doing a "Save As" on the file and saving it with a different name to your desktop, then try another collect for output.

    jagged font problem in acrobat

There's really no reason to outline the fonts in InDesign, and I suspect that may be your problem. Just embed them when you create the PDF. Also, if the font has an effect such as a drop shadow or other transparency effect applied to it, you may want to check the "flattener" settings to make...

    Anyone running Entourage 2008?

Entourage works with Microsoft Exchange Server... any other calendar syncing is simply dumb luck really. I don't have Office 2008 yet, but I suspect nothing has changed from the last version. You're probably not going to get the best results... but who knows, it could happen.

    Photoshop CS3 Batch/Script/Action Multiple Problem

have you tried clicking the Override Save As box with "Folder" in the Destination settings under Batch? And do you have "Save As" set up in the action itself? You might want to try messing around with these items, as I suspect this is the problem.

    Photo editing?

If you're not sure you need Photoshop, then you absolutely don't need it. Try Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 when it's released in a few months. Or, try Pixelmator now ($50). Both are excellent. Aperture isn't a photo editor (even though it has SOME photo editing capabilities). It is however, an...

    flip4mac alternative????

Why are you blaming Apple for the problem when Microsoft is the one who created the shitty, proprietary format that even their own player barely works with due to the 713 million different cruddy codecs available?

    Can't open indesign cs3 file

Did YOU create the file? If not, it is possible that the person who did was using a plugin that you don't have. Most plugin makers have coded properly to allow you to still open the files, but some have not. If you create it, then it's likely that Natobasso is correct that your file is corrupted.

Create your own Mail stationery in Leopard!!

If you enjoy Leopard’s new Mail Stationery for sending beautiful HTML email, but wished you could personalize it more, read on for some very good news! Apple has made Mail’s new Stationery feature quite easy to edit to your heart’s content, as long as you have an image editor that can save...

Get your non-transparent menu bar back in Leopard

Check it out! Beside the miserable mess of a Dock, the menu bar was my next gripe.

    Font Auditing Tool?

Ultimately, you need to get Suitcase Server - unfortunately it's not Intel Mac ready. I don't know of any apps that will do what you want. Of course the best thing you could do without such an app is to have each user copy their entire Font collection from their machine on to the server, then...

Running CS alongside CS2 - Can it be done?

There are no special tricks, you can run CS2 and CS1 at the same time with no issues whatsoever - as they use different preference files and they have different serial numbers. Go ahead and run them both. I did for well over a month before finally deleting CS1 and I did absolutely nothing of any...

HUGE save times and instability, Illustrator CS

Agreed. While It's not my place to tell someone how to get their work done, Adobe Illustrator is NOT the best app to be doing layout work in. That's what InDesign is for.

    CS2 System requirements confusion

You have to understand that Acrobat 8 was NOT part of CS2 when CS2 was released. Acrobat 7 was in the suite. Since then, they've upgraded Acrobat, thus we have new requirements. But the rest of CS2 only requires 10.3 because that's what was available when it was released. I think you'll see...

Where did number of items in folder go?

You could have just turned on the "Show Item Info" in the Finder Window Prefs. It also tells you how many items are in the folder you have selected at the bottom of the Finder Window (been that way since at least 10.2). Edit: Sorry, I didn't notice the solution was already posted by Barhar

    Mouse Accuracy Problem

A new mouse will cost you $30-$100. My time is worth more to me than the money for a new mouse. Honestly, I wouldn't bother screwing with it.

How do I apply more CPU power to an application

I think DeltaMac is on the right track. Without enough RAM, OSX uses the hard drive as RAM (swap files) - and that takes processing power. More RAM **might** fix the issue. Of course, a new MacPro would fix it faster! ;-)

    24" iMac memory config

Apple will build your machine with a 2gig and a 1gig when you order, so why not just do it instead of getting 2gigs now, and then wishing you got 3 and paying more later?

    Mac/Intel Update Problem

FWIW, I HIGHLY advise everyone I talk to about Macs to ALWAYS use Combo updates and downloadable updates rather than using Software Update. More problems stem from incomplete installs and buggy crud coming from Software Update "updates" - and the fix for 90% of them ends up being "re-apply the...
