Apple-Tab + Q...cool!

I don't know if this has already been posted but this evening I accidentally hit Q when an app was selected in the Apple-Tab selector window and it quit my app.

Wonder when this feature was added...Puma ?

I mentioned this just last week, and it has been mentioned before.
You might also notice that using Apple-Tab then H will let you hide the app, instead.
The feature was there in 10.1, not sure when it showed up though!

You can also hit command-tab and then mouse over all the icons to select them as well -- kind of defeats the purpose of short keyboard commands, but hey, it's cool!

apple + tab shows you all the open apps, highlighting one also lets you use shortcuts like apple+h or apple+quit or whatever others there are

I always use that shortcut when I close programs that don't have dialogs attached to them (Safari, DVD Player, etc.). Quite handy.

When you pressed Apple + Tab, then Q, was your finger still on the Apple button? Then you're basically doing a plain ol' Apple + Q which quits apps. Nothing fancy actually.

ah, but you haven't actually brought the app to the foreground - you can quit the app and leave it in the background.

Yeah, if you don't quite get the idea of what we're saying yet, open a couple of dozen apps and try this out. Hold down Apple (don't let go) and press Tab-Q-H-Q-Tab-Tab-Q. Notice it will act on the currently highlighted icon without having to actually select the program. Make sense yet?

I wish they'd bring back apple +tab + shift for going backwards in the list. The only thing I know to do is use the arrow keys, buy taking my hand off the mouse defeats the purpose imo.

Apple + Tab scrolls through the list of open applications to the right, and Apple + Shift + Tab scrolls to the left through the list.

Try holding down Apple + Shift, then pressing Tab one or more times, then, let go of Shift and keep hitting Tab and see that the direction changes.

Yeah like scruffy said I hit Q while holding Apple and while a specifc application is selected, thereby quitting in the background.

I just didn't know you could do that until a day ago.
