i have two 20" cinema monitors and i wanna connect both to my mac g5 but i have to different connections on my video card should i buy another card? what do i do?

I'm guessing since it is a G5, that one is a ADC and one is a DVI.

This is a DVI connector, this is an ADC connector.

These are Apple Cinema Displays, right?

yes i have two apple cinema displays and yes the card in my mac g5 has the dvi and the adc connection.....what do i do about that i wanna have both monitors in my studio so i wanna have them both connected.

Plenty of adapters are sold (both by Apple and by 3rd parties) for connecting DVI monitors to ADC ports, ADC monitors to VGA ports, etc.

All it would take is knowing what kind of connector port(s) your card has, and what kind of connectors your monitor(s) has/have. Then, your solution is but a single Google search away.

If you need help with the Google search, then tell us exactly what kind of connectors your monitors have, and what kind of ports your video card has. icemanjc provided links that will help you identify exactly what kind of connectors you have.

You best bet would to be go to ebay and get a AGP card with two DVI ports for your G5.

i have two displays with the adc connections and my video card has a dvi and an adc connection i looked for an adapter for this monitor and i'm having a hard time finding one. do you know of any place that might have one or do u know of any apple video card with dual adc connections?

I believe there is no card with dual ADC ports. However, you can get a DVI to ADC adapter so that you can have two ADC displays. Here's the adapter, it's not cheap, but it'll do the trick (might be able to get it cheaper on Amazon or eBay).

Yep, anytime, that is what we are all here for.
The problem is, with the G5 there really is only one dedicated slot for a video card. So you can actually put two video cards in, but it has to be a PCI card which results in lower performance and there also are no PCI video cards that have an ADC port. The other problem is that with ADC, it requires a whole lot of power from the motherboard, thus meaning that there has to be a specially made motherboard for it.
So it was a really cool idea from Apple having one cord for video, power, and USB, but it just didn't turn out well....
