Dsl Modem won't fit Airport

Just bought an airport extreme base station and when I have tried to connect my adsl modem, the plug is too small to fit the port of the airport extreme. Anyone know a solution to this? Thanks

It sounds like you're trying to connect the phone line to the Airport instead of the ethernet line.

Your setup should have the phone line running from the wall into the DSL modem's phone line port, and then you should have an ethernet cable from the DSL modem's ethernet port to the AirPort's ethernet port.

Unknown information:
The manufacturer and model number of the ADSL modem? (and maybe the URL of the manufacturer web site)
The type of cable whose plug you are trying to insert into the Airport's Ethernet connector?

It's a thomson speedtouch, it's a Usb adsl modem, I'm thinking these are not compatible with airport extreme? Thanks
