Firmware restoration Cd's not working

I have a macbook bought in june 2006 - I am assuming this is model 1,1

I close the macbook down whilst it was updating firmware, and now it does not turn on properly

I downloaded firmware restoration image 13 ( and 14 just in case i had the wrong model)

I followed the instructions as best I could to use the CDs but it has not worked. The computer sounds like it has taken in the CD and is processing something but then it just stops making noises all together, and goes quiet with just the sleep led on. I have left it for quite some time and still nothing happens.

Something slightly different is that the instructions tell you to expect this:

"Turn on the computer and continue holding the Power button. The sleep LED will blink rapidly, then slowly, then rapidly (3 quick blinks, 3 slow blinks, 3 quick blinks)."

My laptop just does a load of fast blinks and then just goes to a continous light, followed by what i think is the long tone (like a long beep) that you are to expect. Does this mean its not just the firmware update that is a problem?

I tried inserting the cd at different times but still got exactly the same. I tried both cd 13 and 14 just in case it was model 2,1

Many thanks for any advice you can give

Kate

i got exactly the same thing on my iMac4,1

i got the led blinking fast then a long sound and i insert the cd and nothing happens
it just loads the os as usuall

i cant restore my firmware and im stuck

The firmware restore CD is only for attempting to repair a failed firmware update - when the Mac won't even boot.
If you are successfully booting to OS X, then that firmware restore CD will not do anything.
What sort of problem are you having now?

i forgot my password and i cant find the cd with os or the firmware

so i downloaded the firmware cd cause i read somwhere that it can help me change the pass

well in that case there's nothing but reinstall...

Your admin account password has absolutely nothing to do and is not even remotely related to the firmware of your laptop. You don't need the firmware restoration CD to reset your password.

You can reset your admin account password by booting from the Mac OS X Install CD/DVD and selecting "Reset password" from one of the menus.

You say you can't find the CDs with the OS on them -- having a computer without the OS install CDs is like having a car without the keys to it: pretty damn useless.
