I just got this ibook yesterday, and I was wanting to delete the previous owner but I cannot get the system pref app to work. It was not in the apps folder either. I reinstalled the combo 10.5.6 update and still nothing, all it does now is when I go to system pref from the apple icon it goes to the dash board, also the icon is not the gear box, it looks like a compass and pencil. This is my first mac, I just got it to play with, everything else works..and I have no restore disks..Any ideas??? Thanks in advance.

Open your hard drive, then the System folder, then Library. Open the PreferencePanes folder. Double-click the Accounts.prefPane.
That should launch System Preferences, without regard to its location.

If that doesn't work - because System Preferences is, in fact, not anywhere on your hard drive, then you will need to reinstall from either original disks, or from an OS X 10.5 installer DVD.

Is there any possibility of an installer disk from wherever you bought this iBook?

The installer that you linked - will not work on your iBook.
To help your search - you want an installer DVD, not a set of disks. The installer will be on a single DVD. Also, you would look for the commercial installer.
The DVD that you want will be black (not grey), and will have a large X across the label.
The grey disk set will be for a specific Mac model. Your iBook never shipped with 10.5 (Leopard), so you can be sure that no grey disk will work.
That seller seems to offer other choices for OS X installers, so I think you could ask that seller what they have? Don't be too surprised if that commercial installer is over $125. Less than that will be a good price for Leopard, I think.

Yeah..looks like the software is more than I paid for the iBook. It also not easy to find a working torrent either.

Careful... you're venturing into "illegal" territory and, while there are plenty of places on the internet that will help you pirate software, this is not one of them. Just a heads-up!
