Getting Panic error

I just bought a used PowerMac G5. It did not have a HDD, but it does boot to the no OS icon. I put in a HDD and a OSX disk, but when I try to boot from the DVD drive I get a panic kernel error and a grey screen saying I need to reboot. The panic error states something about unable to determine drivers for this system PowerMac 11,2. I though I was using a disc with the correct version, but I am not positive.

Any help would be appreciated.

You might have a correct version of OS X, but simply a wrong DVD.
What color is the DVD label?
What OS X version number is listed on that label?

I have several CDs, all grey in color.

The markings are:

Disc 1 - AHT version 3a161 disc version 1.0 2z691-6536-a

Disc 2 - Mac OS 10.4.9 AHT version 3a120 disc version 1.0 2z691-5991-a

Disc 3 - Mac OS 10.4.8 AHT version 3a118 disc version 1.0 2z691-5967-a

Disc 4 - Macbook Mac OS 10.6 disc version 1.0 2z691-6531-a

I do have a Macbook Pro with 10.6 on it if this will help at all.

The most rule of thumb is once you buy a Mac it go backwards for the version of OS X that came on it in the first place. Plus 'grey' disks are coded to the Mac that those grey disk came with so you can't install them on ANOTHER Mac. You need to use a Retail disk to install on another Mac.

So according to appleserialnumberinfo.com, the last OS for this model was 10.5.8. So I can buy a retail copy of any version 10.5.8 or below?

As Satcomer mentioned, you'll need to source a Retail install disk such as this 10.5.6 not cheap.
Ebay is another source, also primo pricing.

Yes, all of the installer DVDs that you list are for Macs with intel processors - none will work on your G5.
