I was looking on my Mac earlier and I noticed that it's named "MyName's MacBook Pro (2)". There was a point where I had two MacBook Pros but I got rid of the first one and I removed it from my Apple ID and anything associated with me, and I changed the name of the new MacBook Pro to just "MyName MacBook Pro", but it seems to have changed and I can't figure out/remember how to rename it to remove the "(2)".

That would be the computer name in your macOS system. The system, I don't know exactly why, will occasaionally change its own name, by adding a (2), or higher number if the (2) already exists. There was a macOS system two or three years ago that would change that name on its own. Seemed to be fixed after some system update (don't remember, but it hasn't done that for me for several years now.)

The normal place to change that is:
System Preferences/Sharing pane.
Computer name is at the top of that panel. Change the name as you wish.
(I dislike Apple's default names. I don't think I have left that name alone for more than 20 years. My Mac currently is named "Bobaloo" - probably last named that 5 years ago.
(I like restarting after changing the computer name, just because I can, and a restart might be needed to "make it stick". Probably unnecessary at that time, but I do it anyway  )

Read the Apple Support Document “Change the name ..... should help you!

I'm "pretty sure" that the OP was not talking about the account name, but was wondering about how the computer name somehow added a (2) to the name. That document that you linked, although useful for the account name, will probably not help the OP, as the computer (sharing) name is not related to the user account name in any way/ This is a common event for the computer (sharing) name to change itself, for a variety of different reasons.
The "account name", or the user folder name are unlikely to accidentally get modified, and would have much more affect on the system, where the computer (sharing) name is really just a minor detail. Not as challenging to change the computer name in the Sharing pref pane.
But, you can get yourself in trouble in a hurry if you change the name of the user folder, unless you know what you are doing.

To change the computer name, you need to do the following steps. On a Mac, select Apple menu > ""System Settings,"" then click ""Share."" Open Sharing Settings. If a locked lock is displayed at the bottom left, tap it to unlock the settings panel. Enter a new name in the ""Computer Name"" field. Please do not use fake IDs as there are now many devices like https://www.idanalyzer.com/products/prime-id-scanner.html to verify the authenticity of the ID, and you may get into trouble if you try to use a
