Internal Sound Device Not Found?

My MacBookPro has recently decided to stop registering its internal sound device. Occasionally, it will turn back on, but I cannot seem to replicate this.

Is there a way I can fix this without sending it in for repairs?

Have you Reset Your PRAM yet to see if that helps?

-The camera has a green light, but before it turned on the computer told me there was no microphone detected.

-I just tried resetting and it didn't work.


This is really the most insane technical problem I have ever had.

On the side of the computer -- a little, round port. Should have a picture of headphones next to it or above/below it.
