inverted photos

I have a simple question I have a IMac . . Mac OS X version 10.5.7 I received a photo attachment with an inverted picture. I saved the picture to my desktop and then corrected it to a upright position. I then saved the new upright picture to my desktop.

Then when I mailed the new picture to myself to test it the picture was inverted.

What did I do wrong ?

Plus in Mail did you check mark the Mail (10.5.x) menu item "Edit-Attachments-Always Send Windows-Friendly Attachment"?

I'm guessing you mean up-side down and not inverted. Anyways, if you rotated it in preview, it only stays rotated only in Preview, it does not actually change the file itself (at least from my experiences) so when you open it up in anything else it is still the same.
