Please bare with me, just got my new mac after being a long time unhappy pc user. So, I am play with my new Imac and for me its all about the media movies and music, and my question is about itunes and music.
When I open itunes and start playing a song everything is fine but when I go to click on a random song to play by click on might mouse it wont play that song i am click on i have to use the forward button next to the play button (very annoying) now with pc of course you put your cursor over the song you want to play and click or double click and it plays.
Also when trying to browse folders the same thing happens pc double click on folder i want to open and it opens my mac i have to right click then select open. So, is there any way with the might mouse to put the cursor over the song click and have it play very annoying having to use the forward button to forward through all the songs to get to the one i want thanks for you patience, Scott

Double-clicking (with the left button, of course) a song in iTunes will begin playing the song. Double-clicking a folder in the Finder will open a window displaying the contents of that folder. Both are exactly the same as under Windows.

Are you saying that double-clicking a song in iTunes doesn't start playing the song? And that double-clicking folders in the Finder does not open those folders in a window?

hey when i click with the left a screen pops up and has get info rating etc? it did work once or twice but thats it

Sounds like your mouse buttons are backwards in system preferences or else you don't know your left from you right?

i figured it out I just had the double click set to fast in the setting so i moved it down to slow and well it works thanks for the advice and input sure I will have a lot more questions as i get acquainted with my mac best investment i have ever made IMAC is Classy

You would get great satisfaction out of the book Switching to the Mac: The Missing Manual, Snow Leopard Edition. It will almost make you a long time Mac home user guru.
