Im on os 10.3.9 and Java, any applet, just hangs in safari. Safari itself doesn't hang, but the windows with the applet in it does nothing.

Ive tried this (reinstalling java and other suggestions in this thread - except the security update patch which wouldnt install):

http://www.macosx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51502

The things I need to run are at:

http://www.holomatix.com/showcase/

Can anyone help me out with a solution? I've tried 4 macs on this, all the same software versions and one mac can run it - so it can be done.

I looked through the site and I also can't see the presentations. I think it is because the site is a Windows only program that uses Active X and need Windows machines to run it.

Perhaps, if the original post was clear as to what 'The things I need to run ...' were.

However, an assumption was made when booted into MacOS X 10.3.4 (and using 'Safari' v. 1.2.2) and 10.4.4 (and using 'Safari' v. 2.0.3) - to click on the pictures under the 'SHOWCASE' heading; as well as the 'Heart Anatomy Demonstration', 'Architectual Visualtization', and 'NEC e949' links - all of which are Java '.jar' files. All of which are viewable.

With respect to 'Safari', make sure its 'Preferences' 'Security' tool's 'Web Content:'s 'Enable plug-ins', 'Enable Java', and 'Enable JavaScript' check boxes - are check marked.

Is JavaScript disabled by default in Safari?

Peace...
