:o :o I dont know if this was posted already, (im new :D ) but when i try starting up, a flashing globe pops up, then switches to a folder, then shuts off. I try holding down option, but a screen with a lock and a place for a password comes up, someone help me please! :o

The flashing globe means that your Startup Disk preference is set to boot from a network server. The folder icon means that (after timing out looking for a nonexistant network server) no valid boot device can be found.

The lock with a password screen is an "open firmware" password, which you can get around by either adding or removing a stick of RAM (of course, you must leave some RAM in so the machine can function, so if you've only got one stick of RAM in the machine, your only option is to install another one). Then, you might want to use this utility to turn off the open firmware password:

The Open Firmware password is not provided on a Mac by default, and must be setup manually. If this is not your computer, you should check with whoever has an administrator password to find out if it's OK to disable this password. One of its purposes is to prevent unauthorized boots. If this computer is yours, then, certainly follow through to disable that password as EDCCaca suggested.
