Mac Memory

Mmmmk, so.

I just ordered a MacBook. I didn't get the kind of memory I wanted, but I just recently thought of a plan. I have a Dell Inspiron 6000, and wondered if anybody thought I could simply switch the memory's out and with my new macbook. Is this at all plausable? Thanks...

Don't ever buy the Apple Store extra RAM, they charge WAY TO MUCH! Just get you extra Mac memory from Crucial or Other World Computing (OWC).

Use memory from an older computer is almost never a good idea. Only after comparing the individual specs on the RAM would be the only course of action.

Your Dell has PC2-4200 533MHz memory. Your new MacBook will require a minimum of PC2-5300 667MHz sodimm.
So, the old memory from your Dell won't be compatible.
