If you bought a Mac which shipped with MacOS X 10.4.2, then you are barking up the wrong tree. You need a System Restore disc for your computer. You cannot use the commercial distribution disc for MacOS X 10.4.2. If you have a PPC-based Mac, then you may be able to use a newer commercial release of MacOS X 10.4.2. If you have an Intel-based Mac, then no commercial release of MacOS X 10.4 can be installed.

If you need legitimate help, then please give the model of your computer.

Your iBook G4 likely did ship new with OS X10.4.2
You would need that version, or some newer version, on a black installer disk. You can find them on eBay.
You can also try contacting Apple. They can provide you with replacement restore disks (which are a set of 2 grey disks) for your model, for a nominal shipping fee.

girlsdorm132, use the discs Apple gave you when you bought hte hardware to restore your system.
