MAC Pro Memory Configuration issue

I just went from 4 to 8gb of memory by adding 2 x 2gb sticks.

I have them placed as follows.

Riser A"
2gb
2gb
1gb
1gb

Riser B
512MB
512MB
512MB
512MB

According to the documentation I found this should be correct. They are added in pairs and each pair does not need to match the other pair. However, it is only seeing the memory in Riser Block B (2 GB)

Any ideas?
 
Have you tried swapping the pairs on that riser A? That would assure that you have reseated all 4 cards.
The risers don't have to be installed in original locations, so have you tried to swap the riser cards?
 
Sorry guys,

I thought I posted my fix to this last night. Apparently I forgot to hit "post"

Anyway, my problem was knowing the bank layout. As you know there are 8 slots but they are in pairs (4 banks) Bank 1 is riser card A, bank 2 goes to B, then back to A and finally back to B. The final config looks like this:

Riser A
2GB
2GB
512MB
512MB

Riser B
1GB
1GB
512MB
512MB

At least thats the way it will remain until I get my next order this coming week.
