Macbook pro display problem

I bought a new macbook pro in august and for the past month the resolution will begin to get messed up. Usually this happens while im in safari. The screen gets all distorted and I have no idea why this happens please help!

I'd say you have a bad graphics card/chip. At least, a poor connection. It's still under warranty, so see an Apple store or call Apple for instructions.

is it under warranty even if I didn't purchase that 350$ or whatever crazy amount they asked me about when i bought it?

All Macs come with a 1 year warranty. AppleCare simply extends that coverage to 3 years.

Yours is fully under warranty.

The 'crazy amount' is also worth it if you ever have one repair after your original 1 year warranty expires. Laptop repairs are not cheap.
