Making my mac think it has a faster processor

Partially Insane
Hi!
I installed Nascar Racing 2002 in a G4/400, but upon opening the application an alert pops up which says I have to have a 450 Mhz or faster procesor...

On old days you could change the Gestalt Id, etc of a machine... Is it possible to make it think i'm running a faster processor?

Answers appreciated,
Thanxs!

That's pretty much all I know. I don't know if this will do anything about the CPU speed reporting though... But beware of the disclaimer, since doing almost anything besides installing an AirPort or RAM voids your warranty (if it's even still under warranty).

I'm really regretting not buying myself the 800MHz (see sig for specs) though :p But the 786 MB RAM helps a bit...

You could fool the software into thinking there is a faster processor, but the processor would still be too slow, May be a good reason fo 450MHz, a slow processor is still a slow processor! We're talking about actual performance here, not just a work around to get some software to run (poorly)
