New iTunes Look; Steve Jobs, Cocoa

cocoa love
I just wanted to rant out that I like the new iTunes look, the clef in the icon looks like the old one except its purple, which gives me a feeling "iTunes pumped up on steroids."

I'm also really confused about somthing... Steve Jobs, he's been with Cocoa ever since it was being made back in 1987, wouldn't Steve Jobs know Cocoa? Like he knows how to program it?

Anyways - just a rant- I love the new iTunes look :D

New look? Did i miss something? Mine looks like iTunes 2 with a new purple note and some smart lists.

Twister

I really like the new iTunes. Internet radio stations start instantly now, instead of taking 3-4 seconds to preload in the last version of iTunes. They also seem to play more stable and not lose their connection as often.

The purple icon is a bit different and kind of clashes with Aqua but I'll get used to it.

I really just love the simplicity of iTunes. I used to like WMP for the PC until version 7, which was just overkill and full of crap advertising and features that I don't use. WMP for OS X is just slow and buggy.

In anycase, all of the iApps are maturing nicely and amazingly well rounded for only being a couple of years old.

Cmon Apple, release an iBrowse and complete this triad of killer free apps for OS X.

As for Jobs and Cocoa, like Gates, he probably hasn't done any real coding for the past 20 years. That's not to say he isn't familiar with it but it's probably not where his expertise lie.

I'm using the radio feature in iTunes alot more now. My favorite station is Radiostorm Hardrock in the Alt/Modern Rock section. Great selection.

Yea!! Purple icon!!! looks great on my grape imac!!

sorry, but i personally think that purple and aqua look great together. They don't clash in my eyes. It's about time somebody starting using some purple!!

Just doesn't look right among the old Mac OS X blue theme...then again, Apple seems to love breaking their own GUI guidelines

Voice- Yeah I hate it how Apple doesn't follow their very strict Aqua Human Interface Guidelines. The new icon looks great though, it feels more like an mp3 player suitable for the system. I don't get why Apple can't implement real-time resizing though, even RealOne Player got that right. I don't wanna sound like a pervert or anything but I thought that first girl that "got her homework eaten by the PC" was really hot. If she's 16 thats in my age range ;).

About the Steve Jobs and the Cocoa, I read alot of interviews with Steve Jobs and he really understood Object-oriented programming really really well. I wouldnt doubt it if Steve Jobs knew some Cocoa.

She was, like, such a dork, the way she, like, had to take, like, braskes while speaking about, like, her paper...and stuff...you know...

I could never be around a person like that for a day or more. They sound braindead.

Did anyone else notice that iTunes3 has less of a "brushed-metal" look? It still looks like brushed-metal, but it's smoother", more continuous grey and less noticable lines.

I noticed the new brushed-steel look as well -- much more subdued and more professional-looking. I know many people here don't like the brushed metal look, but I, personally, kinda think it looks good.

On another note -- someone mentioned that the information at the bottom of the iTunes 3 window that displays the total song information now counts the total time of all tracks in days now -- BUT -- you can click on it, and it'll switch back to the old-style like days:hours:minutes:seconds.

Well IMHO, its almost impossible to find a mac chick in your age range. Finding a Mac chick in my age range (sorta) and one that actually looks dayum good is a miracle. Too bad she probably lives thousands of miles away .

About the iTunes live resizing - no it doesn't. I've tried iTunes on just about every computer Apple makes. It still resizes like OS 9. Just my thoughts.

Works fine here on my TiBook. With the songlist I get live resize and with the eyecandy running the outline.
